Youth Sports Portraits

An athletic portrait shows off an athlete’s grace, power, and physical capabilities using controlled movements highlighted by dramatic lighting and other special effects. An athlete’s passion for the sport shines through these portraits, captured in a personalized photo shoot. 

Social media, school web pages, college applications, or sharing with family – there are many ways to share and to appreciate athletic portraits.

Most of all, the athletes themselves want something different than just photos of them in action. They want something creative, something special that captures attention and shows off their passion and personality in a dramatic way. 

How it works

1. Submit an inquiry through this site, providing the athlete’s name, the sport, and an email contact. 

2. Within 2 days, you’ll receive the preliminary shot list (photos planned to be taken) to approve, along with a list of requested items to bring to the shoot. Examples of requested items include home and away jerseys, any other jerseys, along with all needed personal equipment. 

3. In addition, you’ll receive a phone call to cover the shot list, creative approaches to the shoot, and an agreed-upon date for the shoot. School colors, if relevant, will be covered. 

4. The shoot lasts 60 to 90 minutes – until all photos on the shot list have been captured. The photos you choose to keep will be professionally retouched and enhanced. 

5. Following the shoot, your photos will be uploaded to a private gallery in 1-5 days, including:

   • High-resolution JPGs

   • Social media JPGs (low resolution for quick loading)

   • TIFs for printing 

6. You download images and order prints (or handle printing on your own). Galleries remain available for as long as you want. 

What you get

You’ll have a professional photographer running the portraiture shoot. A member of the elite Nikon Professional Services (NPS), he shoots with multiple top-of-the-line cameras and lenses as well as special effects equipment.

• 60-90 minute photo shoot, complete with:

  • Multiple different poses and outfits

  • Dramatic lighting highlighting the athlete’s passion

  • Personalized shot list (list of the photos that are planned to be taken)

• Photos can be taken either indoors or outside, depending on the sport and the shots you want.
